This project includes four methanol production units from natural gas, production of olefin from methanol, production of different grades of polypropylene and polyethylene from manufactured olefin (respectively from propylene and ethylene). Production plan of various grades of polymer products from natural gas contains a capacity of 630,000 tons, including 400,000 tons of polypropylene and 230,000 tons of polyethylene.
In order to produce 160,000 tons of Formalin, seven production lines have been purchased. From manufactured Formalin in this phase, 20,000 tons of Paraformaldehyde is produced downstream of this section.
Paraformaldehyde is a solid product of Formalin; indeed, not only it has added value but also has no problem in transportation. In addition. It can be exported to the export markets of the region, including Turkey, Azerbaijan, etc.
Due to the excess Methanol in the country and the low feed price of this unit, it will have a very high added value and profitability.
After production and setting up two lines, other lines (5 production lines) have been completed and constructed within six months from the start of production. Besides, 100.000 tons will be added to Formalin production. This formalin will be used to produce Hexamine and Resin.
Collection of products based on Butane Diol (BDO) is one of the most attractive downstream petrochemical products that is degradable and eco- friendly. These products with very high added value are the most significant products in European countries, Turkey, Azerbaijan and the Persian Gulf countries for their biodegradable considerations. They are based on the production of Formalin.
One of the high goals of Ardabil Petrochemical Company is to produce environmentally friendly (degradable) products and become a Green Petrochemical Unit. Therefore, in this regard, due to the production of surplus Methanol in the country, this company has made the process of Formalin production and economic added value and eco-friendly Polymer products one of its top goals.
